Help Maroon 5 Fight Hunger - Bring Canned Food to an Upcoming Show Starting 11/14 Maroon 5 wants to help fight hunger this holiday season and will be working with colleges at their upcoming shows on canned food drives. Take a look below for details about the food drive at each upcoming show (each collection is the night of the show):
11/14 - Lewisburg, PA - Bucknell University
Concert goers are being asked to bring the following items to the show on 14th November. The food will be packaged up by students into hampers and given out to under privileged families prior to Thanksgiving, who have been nominated by local charities and Red Cross:
- Boxed stuffing
- Instant potatoes
- Canned cranberry sauce
- Canned vegetables
- Canned gravy
- Any additional Thanksgiving-related, non-perishable food items
- Monetary donations are also welcome - this will be used to put towards grocery store gift cards so the families can purchase a turkey
11/16 - Newark, DE - University of Delaware
All canned food, other non-perishable items and monetary donations given on the night will be delivered to the Food Bank Of Delaware. Collection area will be at the entry of the venue.
11/18 - Peoria, IL - Bradley University
All canned food, other non-perishable items and monetary donations given on the night will be delivered to Peoria Area Food Bank. Collection area will be at the entry of the venue.
11/21 - San Angelo, TX - Angelo State University
All canned food, other non-perishable items and monetary donations given on the night will be delivered to the Concho Valley Food bank. Collection area will be at front of the venue near the radio station broadcast vans.

$15,000 Challenge Now Open to ALL College Students! Last month, Maroon 5 announced their "$15,000 Starving Student Contest," allowing any student attending one of their upcoming college dates, the opportunity to win $15,000. Originally, you had to take a short video of yourself at one of the shows, singing along to one of the songs to enter. Now, the band has decided to open the contest to ANY college student, whether you're at the show or not. Entry is simple:
- On November 2nd, go to twitvid.com/maroon5
- Use the built-in recorder to take a video of yourself singing along to one of the songs streaming on that page

Maroon 5 launches several contests for fans to win tickets to see the band live on tour & win prizes via their official Twitter account
Los Angeles, CA, September 10, 2009- GRAMMY winning, A&M/ Octone recording artists Maroon 5 have announced plans for an exclusive nationwide college tour that will kick off this November. The multi-city tour will launch at Murray State University in Kentucky on November 2nd and make eleven stops before wrapping in Kansas at the end of the month. Hip Hop MC, griot, and singer/ songwriter K’naan will serve as the tour’s opening act on all dates. Both artists will be joined by Guster in Lewisburg, PA who will be making a special guest appearance.
Maroon 5’s college tour precludes the release of the group’s new album, which is set for release in the spring of 2010. Earlier this summer the band announced that they have entered the studio with legendary producer Robert John "Mutt" Lange to record the follow-up to It Won’t be Soon Before Long, their multi-platinum selling sophomore album. The quintessential pop-rock producer has produced blockbuster albums for acts like AC/DC, Def Leppard, Bryan Adams, The Cars, Shania Twain and Foreigner.
“After spending the summer in the studio recording overseas, we are excited to be returning home and to the road this fall,” said the band’s frontman Adam Levine. “It’s exciting for us to hit the stage again together and also get a chance to debut some of our new material that we’ve been recording for our fans.”
Tickets for Maroon 5’s upcoming college shows will go on-sale starting with a fan club pre-sale on Thursday, September 17th with college pre-sales to launch on Thursday, September 24th and the general public on-sale to occur on Monday, September 28th.
Maroon 5 has also announced plans for a major contest giving one lucky fan $15,000 using Twitter and TwitVid. Concert-goers will be required to take a video of themselves at the show and submit it to twitvid.com/maroon5. Fans can learn more at twitvid.com/maroon5 or maroon5.com. In addition, the band will be running several contests to win tickets to the show. James Valentine will be challenging students to tennis matches at each tour stop in exchange for tickets. Fans will have to follow Maroon 5’s twitter at twitter.com/maroon5 to find out where and when James will be hitting the school’s courts.
Adam Levine will also be giving fans unique and creative opportunities to win tickets through his twitter account at twitter.com/adamlevine. Follow Adam for a chance to win at each stop on the tour.

ADAM FEATURED ON OBAMA COMPILATION Barack Obama's presidential campaign, which has inspired a multitude of songs by stars and amateurs alike, is now getting an official soundtrack.
"Yes We Can: Voices of a Grassroots Movement," which takes its title from an Obama campaign slogan, features Adam Levine, Kanye West, John Legend, Sheryl Crow, Stevie Wonder and others. It will be available for sale exclusively through Obama's campaign starting Friday - September 19th.
Proceeds from the CD ($24.99 for a digital download, $30 for a physical product) will help fund Obama's campaign until Nov. 4, Election Day, according Hidden Beach Recordings, which created the CD.
While most of the songs on the disc have been previously released - such as John Mayer's "Waiting On the World to Change" and Stevie Wonder's classic "Signed, Sealed, Delivered I'm Yours" - a few of the songs are new, including John Legend's "Pride in the Name of Love" and "Promised Land," a song by Malik Yusef featuring Kanye West and Adam Levine of Maroon 5.
