October 21.2009 $15,000 Challenge Now Open to ALL College Students!
Last month, Maroon 5 announced their "$15,000 Starving Student Contest," allowing any student attending one of their upcoming college dates, the opportunity to win $15,000. Originally, you had to take a short video of yourself at one of the shows, singing along to one of the songs to enter. Now, the band has decided to open the contest to ANY college student, whether you're at the show or not. Entry is simple:
- On November 2nd, go to twitvid.com/maroon5
- Use the built-in recorder to take a video of yourself singing along to one of the songs streaming on that page
- Click the submit button to tweet your entry to Maroon's twitter account
- That's it!
The band will pick one of the entries based on energy and originality to win!
Contest starts November 2nd!
You must be a college student and at least 18 years old to enter. Videos taken inside venues at Sacred Heart University and Bucknell are not allowed.

The Environmental Media Association has been named one of the three finalists for the MySpace Impact Awards! The winning organization will receive $10K for their cause. The EMA will use the money to support their programs, including efforts to bring organic gardens into schools in urban and lower socioeconomic areas.
